IMPORTANT #2: BackerKit Rewards and Schedule

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback and questions about BackerKit! We would like to address the most important things (adding rewards + lockdown date) in this update.

1. When you open the BackerKit survey, your cart starts empty. You have to manually select the items you want to get. :)

For example, if you want a single copy of the Master Pledge, you have to click on "Add to cart" as shown below.

Check the right side of the page under "Add-ons". If you don't see any Add-ons and a Shipping Total, it means your cart is empty.

2. Your credit cards will be charged after we lock the BackerKit survey, which will not happen before the end of January. Don't worry, we will let you know in advance when this will happen.

Finally, please do not worry if you haven't received the email invitation yet. It should arrive by the end of Thursday.

Hi,

The BackerKit surveys are ready, and you will get an email invitation to them very soon. Please, check your spam folder, and if the email invitation doesn't appear in the next 48 hours (by the end of Thursday), send us an email to [email protected]

After you complete the survey, you will still be able edit it before we lock it. This will happen before the mass productions starts. Don't worry, we will let you know in advance.

In case you are not familiar with BackerKit, read on to get an overview of it.

What is BackerKit and how it works?

BackerKit is a pledge manager, which is a website that lets you complete your pledge by specifying which rewards you want, adding extra items if you wish, changing your shipping address, and paying for shipping. The amount you have pledged during the Kickstarter campaign will appear in BackerKit as your balance.

1. Select your rewards:

In the survey, please select the number and type of copies you want (Base Game or the Master Pledge) and add them to your cart. You can add multiple copies of the base game, Master Pledge, and the Ambassador Pack.

• Discounts for group pledges (ordering 5 or more games) are automatically deduced from shipping.
• If you want more than 10 copies of the game, please send us an email to [email protected]

2. Shipping address:

You will be able to change your address until we lock the addresses for fulfillment. We will let you know in advance when this will happen.

3. Payment options:

There are two payment options on the confirmation page – credit card and PayPal. Credit cards will be processed after we lock the survey while PayPal will be charged immediately.

Project L is coming to take shape (quite literally), so we'd like to update you with all the news! In this update, you can read about:

Kickstarter surveys are out

We've just sent you a Kickstarter Survey. Please, fill it out so we can more accurately prepare for the shipping process. It's not a problem if the address will change because you will put your final addresses in the pledge manager (BackerKit) later.

To find the survey:

• click on this link
• find Project L in the list of your backed projects and click on the blue plus button on the right side
• select survey (the middle tab) in the pop-up window

Project status

At Essen SPIEL, we had a lot of appointments with manufacturers to discuss all the possibilities for Project L to make sure the game will be produced in the quality that we all expect. We have already received pre-production samples of the basic and advanced pieces and we are closely examining various technological possibilities.

We are also going through the feedback we got from everyone who stopped by at our booth and played Project L with us.

Thank you very much if you took the time to stop by our booth and say hello or even play a few rounds of Project L with us! It was incredible to see all of you and to hear so much positive feedback about the game. There were so many people interested in a demo that we had to add extra demo space just for Project L!

It was great to see so many young players play the game as well, the youngest being an amazing 4-year-old boy! :)

Next steps

• Kickstarter Surveys were sent out: Once we evaluate the results, we will open the pledge manager (BackerKit). This should take 1-2 weeks.
• We are communicating with manufacturers and have received first production samples of basic and advanced pieces.
• At the moment, we are working on the game variants and playtesting different options for 6-player games that reduce downtime a lot. In November, there are two gaming events in the Czech Republic at which we're planning to playtest Project L in order to get feedback on these from as many players as possible.

Wow!

First of all, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

The whole campaign was a huge blast, and we are so happy for everyone that jumped on board and joined us in this wonderful journey! Throughout the whole campaign, you have been incredibly helpful and supportive, and your enthusiasm helped us go forward every day. The fact that you have blasted through 36 stretch goals in record time can be matched only by the effort with which you have destroyed all 6 community stretch goals!

When we started Project L we didn't even realize how many people might fall in love with it, and it's simply amazing! The wonderful 24 days of the campaign have passed really quickly, honestly. It's hard to keep track of time when we all enjoyed it so much! We really appreciate all your comments and private messages full of great suggestions and ideas. Thank you for being part of this campaign. You have all been wonderful and we can't wait for the moment when you'll have Project L on your table for the first time!

We will regularly update you on the progress through the Kickstarter updates. Do stay in touch through the comments and private messages. We will also continue to post on the Boardcubator Facebook page and the Project L group!

What's next?

Here's a brief timeline of the next steps:

• Week 1 — We'll send out a Kickstarter survey (you'll get an email notice) to map destination countries for shipping purposes.
• Week 1-2 — Kickstarter will collect and transfers funds. We're also attending Essen Spiel 2018. If you'll be there as well, do stop by at our booth at Hall 2A-132 to say hi! ;)
• Week 3-4 — Pledge manager* (BackerKit) will open (you'll receive an invitation email). You'll be able to revise your pledge, add more content, set a shipping address, and more.
• End of the year — Pledge manager deadline. The last chance to add more content to your pledge. We'll remind you of the deadline through project updates. However, you'll still be able to edit your shipping address.

* What's a pledge manager? For those who're not familiar with pledge managers – it's an e-shop-like tool dedicated to manage crowdfunding projects once the campaigns end. In the pledge manager, you'll be able to review your pledge, add additional content, if you wish, and also pay for the shipping. You'll also be able to update your shipping address in case you move.

Last 48 Hours! Community Stretch Goals Unlocked!

Hi,

With only 48 hours left, we're getting close to the end of the Kickstarter campaign! We can hardly believe what a wonderful ride it was, and we'd like to thank you for all the support and inspiration we got from you! We also really appreciate the effort you put into unlocking all the social stretch goals during the last few days (it's also worth to mention again that you have blasted the normal ones quite a few days back)! :)

Thanks to this, we were able to unlock extra gameplay and scoring variants for both multiplayer and solo game, and on top of that, also some amazing component upgrades! For more information about the unlocked stretch goals, take a look at Update #12 for the yellow goals and at Update #13 for the green ones.

A final piece of news is that we have secured a friendly shipping for several new destinations (see Update #14 for details). We have updated the campaign page to reflect the current rates.

Again, thank you so much for being on this ride with us and for helping us spread the word to your friends and gaming groups so no one misses out on it! It means a lot to us!
